Words from the National Director
My brother seminarians,
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Eric Bowman
and I am the National Director of Seminarian Life Link, a
newly formed pro-life organization. Over the past three years,
I have been working with Fr. Frank Pavone, national director
of
Priests for Life, and several seminarians to establish
this organization, and as we continue to experience the joy
and hope of the New Millennium, we believe we are now ready
to launch. Our goal is to assist each other in spiritually
forming holy priests who will live out their vocation on the
cornerstone of the sacredness and dignity of all human life,
born and unborn.
What is Seminarian Life Link?
This organization is designed to create a means of communication
and sharing of resources, to connect all seminarians across
North America to support each other in defending the Gospel
of Life. In addition to making pro-life retreats and personal
meetings available on occasion, we have built this website
to provide information and resources we believe will be helpful
to seminarians on a day-to-day basis.
What if I am too busy to get involved?
We are ourselves seminarians, and recognize the time constraints
that you have in balancing studies, prayer, and spiritual
formation. For this reason, our planning is designed to work
within your very limited free time. But the truth remains
that as long as the dignity of human life is being attacked,
we need to be generous and apostolically zealous in sacrificing
some of our free time to answer the call to defend the sacredness
of life in the face of the Culture of Death which surrounds
us. In the beautiful words of St. Teresa of Avila, "Christ
has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no
feet but yours; yours are the eyes through which Christ's
compassion looks out on the world, yours are the feet with
which He is to go about doing good and yours are the hands
with which He is to bless us now." The call for us as seminarians
is especially urgent to be willing instruments of Christ’s
compassion for the unborn.

Our goal is to help each other balance prayer and apostolic
action to build up the Kingdom of Life during our priestly
formation. We will soon launch a website that is specifically
geared toward seminarians. It will contain many practical
suggestions on what you can do both to fight against the evils
of abortion now, and to prepare and form yourself for the
future to be a priest solidly grounded in the Gospel of Life.
We look forward to working together to spread His Gospel and
Truth.
